Automate Licensing with Spanning Rest API
Almost every IT manager and admin I meet is looking for ways to work more quickly and efficiently.
Rather than viewing automation as the enemy of job security, these pros realize that it can free up time for IT to focus on more strategic tasks. Automation can also help ensure traditional processes like backup occur seamlessly and reliably, regardless of the environment or size of the company.
In response, we’ve added a new REST API for Spanning Backup for Office 365 that enables customers to automate common, repetitive tasks in the product.
The REST API enables admins to programmatically:
- Assign and unassign licenses,
- Retrieve general information about a tenant, such as number of users, number of licenses, and number of licenses assigned,
- Retrieve information about individual users such as assignment status and whether or not they’re a Spanning admin
If you are already a Spanning Backup for Office 365 customer, you can find out more about the API here, or you can navigate to the Settings page in the app to get started.
