By Charlie Wood, CEO & Founder, Spanning
Spanning Backup’s user interface, already described as “sexy” by TechCrunch and “beautiful” by PCWorld, just got a makeover.
To further streamline operations for administrators, we’ve split the Admin Dashboard into several tabs, one each for Accounts, Status, Storage (shown here), and Settings.
We’ve also added the ability for admins to lock user settings. That way admins can specify exactly what gets backed up—and what doesn’t—and then prevent users from modifying those selections.
Finally, we’ve added a shortcut to the user impersonation feature to make it even quicker to navigate. When impersonating a user, just click the red “X” icon next to the navigation drop-down and you’ll be taken directly back to the Admin Dashboard.
In response to customer feedback, we’re adding a number of new admin-only features to Spanning Backup, which we’ll roll out over the next couple of weeks. Watch this space for more.
In Google Chrome 20.0.1132.57, the box which appears after habing clicked on “Back up now” opens up at the bottom of the page. Seems to be a bug.
