5 “Can’t Miss” Office 365 Data Protection Sessions at Microsoft Ignite
Microsoft Ignite 2017 kicks off today in Orlando, Florida. It’s expected that more than 26,000 IT professionals, developers, technologists, vendors and Microsoft customers will be in attendance. With five days chock full of sessions, hands-on labs and interactive panels, the entire experience can be a bit overwhelming.
That’s why we’d like to share our five top choices for “can’t miss” sessions while at Microsoft Ignite. If you’ve browsed the week-long agenda, it’s clear that security and data protection are key focus areas. They’re Spanning’s top priority too, as a cloud-to-cloud provider of backup and restore services for Office 365.
As you migrate to Office 365, the responsibilities for data security and data management shift, and become a shared responsibility between you and Microsoft. Some of the functions related to infrastructure, like service availability and physical security, become Microsoft’s responsibility, but other functions remain your responsibility.
There are three primary IT and security disciplines that you must consider as you move to the cloud to ensure your data is protected and available: Identity Management, Data Security and Data Protection (backup and recovery).
Focusing on these three disciplines will give you control over who has access to your data, what they can do with your data, and provides you the ability to recover data when it is lost due to corruption, configuration errors, ransomware, and malicious behavior.
With that in mind, here are our top five recommendations for sessions to attend while at Microsoft Ignite 2017.
