New Spanning Backup Feature: Non-Admin Admins

In many organizations that use Google Workspace, especially larger ones, there may be multiple admins, sub-admins and super-admins. The admins can be a whole organization unto themselves! Spanning understands this, which is why we’ve just released our new non-admin admins feature.

Let’s say, for example, that you’ve chosen someone to be the backup administrator for your organization, but they’re not a Google Workspace admin. No problem! Now in Spanning Backup, you can make any employee an admin of Spanning Backup, even if they’re not a Google Workspace admin. To do this:

1. Log into Spanning Backup as an admin.
2. Click on the Settings tab.
3. Under the “Spanning Backup Administrators” section, type in the name of the person you want to make an administrator or choose their name from the dropdown menu.
4. You’ll get an immediate confirmation that they’ve been added as a Spanning Backup admin, and you’ll be able to quickly see who has administrative access to both Google Workspace and Spanning Backup.
