On Moving to the Cloud Responsibly
Fred Wilson recently completed his move to the cloud. He and the rest of the Union Square Ventures team now use Google Workspace for email, calendaring, contacts, word processing, and spreadsheets, and are already realizing the benefits:
The sense of freedom that exists when you know your applications and files are available from any device with an internet connection and a browser is amazing. I feel lighter already.
But Fred is a smart guy who’s been working with technology for a long time, so he’s making his move responsibly. In a followup post, he wrote:
Moving to the cloud is something many have done, many more are doing, and a few are resisting. It’s also clear to me that it is the future.
