Market Momentum Accelerates with Spanning Backup for G Suite

With Google Cloud Next ’17 taking place this week, we wanted to look back to see how our Spanning Backup for G Suite business has grown over the past year, particularly since 2016 was hugely successful for our organization. This momentum was driven by an increased percentage of large enterprise deals and distribution agreements with major channel partners. But let’s take a closer look at our Spanning Backup for G Suite business.

Over the course of 2016, we restored more than 16 million items alone via Spanning Backup for G Suite. This number not only reflects accelerating adoption of G Suite around the world, but also the ongoing need to have a backup solution in place ready to restore any data stored in the cloud that is accidentally or maliciously deleted or corrupted. Imagine the implications for businesses worldwide if those millions of items were gone forever.

2016 also brought with it great success stories from customers across the enterprise, healthcare, education and state and local government markets around the world. For example, global creative agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) accelerated its timeline for fully transitioning agency data to G Suite after implementing Spanning Backup for G Suite, on which it relies for strong backup and restore functions, ease of license management, support team responsiveness and outstanding performance in security testing. When asked about Spanning Backup for G Suite, its Global Google Technical Lead William Triantos said, “If anything’s lost, we can get it back in two clicks.”

In New South Wales, Australia, the Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta selected Spanning Backup for G Suite to protect content in email, on learning websites and in core apps for its thousands of students, teachers and staff members, as well as for its archiving and user management capabilities. According to Brian Van Vlimmeren, learning technologies senior manager for the diocese, “It’s so easy, it’s ridiculous.” Great words to hear from a customer, for sure!
